Repeat Prescriptions

Requests for repeat prescriptions should be made giving 2 working days notice / 48 hours as follows:

Click on the 'Prescription Request' link  and access our secure pages to send your request to our NHS mailbox

Send a letter enclosing a stamped addressed envelope so we can return the prescription to you

By placing a written request in the box provided in the entrance hall or the post box outside the main entrance.

By sending a fax to the surgery on 0161 224 4228

WE DO NOT ROUTINELY TAKE REPEAT PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS OVER THE PHONE AS WE FIND INCREASED ERRORS OCCUR IN VERBAL COMMUNICATION.

Please use the computerised counterfoil to request further repeats.

If the item that you require is not on the counterfoil the item is probably not on repeat prescription. Items will only be issued if previously agreed by the doctor.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
